Dan Levy, Catherine O’Hara have a Schitt’s Creek meeting
Attention, BĂ©bĂ©s, David and Moira Rose just met again at Paris Fashion Week. OK, so technically Dan Levy and Catherine O’Hara are reunited, but the setting is so appropriate for a “Schitt’s Creek” reunion that it feels like the Roses are back together.
On March 3, Levy posted a selfie on Instagram of him and O’Hara grinning from their seats at the Loewe women’s fall 2023 runway show. He captioned the picture with an emoji that appears to be on the verge of tears of joy, which is only fitting because that’s how fans of the Emmy-winning comedy felt upon seeing the mother-son duo reunite on screen.
“You’re going to break the internet. Be careful,” one person commented. Another added, “I knew I felt the world getting back into balance.”
“Schitt’s Creek” ended its six-year run in 2020, and fans have been calling for the Roses to reunite ever since. In June 2022, Levy told People that he’d love to work with his castmates again in the future, but the idea has to be right.
“I hope that one day we can all get together. I see these people all the time. We are in constant contact with each other,” he said. “So love is there. The desire to collaborate is there, and the desire to tell more stories is there.”
He continued, “I think it just comes down to making sure it’s the right story. And I think we’re proud of the work we did on ‘Schitt’s’ too.” And when you end up on a high like that, it really forces you to think very carefully about what the next step is, because what whatever that is, it’s an extension of something that most people don’t have, can’t see inside their lives. And I really respect the audience in this thing.
Levy added that he never wants a reunion movie or special to feel like a money grab, but if there’s an organic way for the Roses to come back, he’d love to find it. “So TBD, but a TBD with an exclamation mark at the end,” he said of a possible “Schitt’s Creek” sequel.
