New York City is nothing if not the center of culture, so it made sense that Jaguar unveiled its all-new Type 01 luxury electric four-door GT on October 6th in the heart of Manhattan. The festival was under the stars; Florence Pugh, Sienna Spiro and Jordyn Woods-Towns performed throughout the unveiling party.

I was there for the whole thing – Jaguar invited a group of media and influencers to the city to witness this milestone. We definitely got the A-list treatment: we stayed at the legendary The New York Edition, right by Madison Square Park; were driven around town in sporty, comfortable Range Rovers; and had a very delicious dinner at celeb-loved Budakkan the night before the big reveal.

And of course we took a close look at the Jaguar Type 01, a beautiful car – and with 1,000 hp, the most aerodynamic model the luxury brand has ever built. It puts the design front and center, and I expect a lot of celebrities will be eager to buy one of these as soon as they’re available to order (probably in January).

Of course, while I enjoyed getting my first look at the instantly iconic car, I also enjoyed a glimpse of the stars in attendance. Pugh wore a gorgeous plunging tuxedo dress and her micro bangs were the star of the show alongside a sleek updo and dark lips. Woods-Towns spent the night side by side with husband Karl-Anthony Towns, and it was clear the couple is New York royalty; They took photos with fans all night long. Renowned chef Roze Traore served food while guests chatted and danced.

The crowd fell silent as Sienna Spiro, who had just won Best New Artist at the VMAs, took the stage. In her signature retro look, she performed some of her most popular songs. I particularly liked their live interpretation of “Great Expectation”.

As we stepped back into the night, the stars twinkled above us and the crowd twinkled too. Another typical New York night in the books.
