Man, you need to know more about this Olivia Dean.
The British singer was recently nominated in two Grammy categories, including best new artist and songwriter of the year in non-classical group for her hit “Man I Need.” However, her star has been rising for some time now.
Olivia attended the Brit School – yes, the same performing arts school that counts Adele, Jessie J and the late one Amy Wine house as alumni. And in 2021, she was named Amazon Music’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
Two years later she released her debut album Messy, which shot to number 4 in the UK charts and included hits such as “Dive”. In 2025, she released her second album, “The Art of Loving,” which debuted at #1. In fact, according to her bio, Olivia is the first British woman since Adele to have three UK top 10 singles.
How would she describe her style?
“I’ve only ever made music that I hope I want to hear. It’s really that simple,” Olivia told ELLE in September. “I love soul music. I love jazz. I love bossa nova. I listen to it all the time. I don’t think, ‘I’m going to do this jazzy soul music because it’s going to be cool.’ I just like it.”
