Sarah Michelle Gellar Reveals Dolly Parton’s Buffy Connection

Dolly Parton She may be known for working 9am to 5pm, but she’s not afraid of the dark.

As it turns out, according to Buffy, the country music legend himself played a role in bringing Buffy the Vampire Slayer to the big screen.

“Yes, little known fact”, Sarah Michelle Gellar said on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on January 31, “The legend Dolly Parton was a producer.”

Dolly’s support, while integral to the show’s origins, wasn’t exactly practical.

“We never saw her,” Sarah told the host Jimmy Fallon. “In the beginning, we got Christmas presents with our names on them, and I was like, ‘She doesn’t know who I am.'”

How wrong would you be Sarah Michelle Gellar!

“One day someone asked her about it and she complimented the show and my performance,” Sarah gushed. “I thought, ‘Oh, I can die now. Dolly Parton knows who I am and thinks I’m good.’”
