Reuters reveals US Seagate violated export rules when selling Huawei hard drives

Reuters exclusively revealed that Seagate Technology Holdings said in a filing that the US government warned the company that it may have violated export control laws by providing hard drives to a customer, which a source familiar with the situation called Huawei Technologies have identified. Huawei is on the US Department of Commerce’s list of companies and barred from receiving US exports and certain foreign-made items without government approval.
