Parker and Cohen left Amazon in 2022, four years after Amazon had acquired Pillpack for about 750 million US dollars. General Medicine was founded in 2023 and began to serve patients at the beginning of this year before starting this month.

It is a similar goal of Amazon that is supposed to disrupt health care in the United States in recent years by using its “customer -obsessed” mentality and quick delivery functions. It had mixed success, sunbathing offers such as a telemedicine service and a fitness wearable.

The company operates Amazon Pharmacy, who was born from the Pillpack acquisition. In addition, in 2022 it acquired a provider of basic supplier One Medical for $ 3.9 billion and gives it both an online and an inpatient presence for health care.
