‘Evil Dead’ actor shares news

Bruce Campbell has news about his health.

The Evil Dead star said he was “diagnosed with a type of cancer that is ‘treatable,’ not ‘curable.’

“I apologize if this is a shock to me – it was to me too,” Bruce wrote in a March 2 message

The 67-year-old called his cancer an “opportunity” and said his plan was to “get through the summer as well as I can,” which led to him canceling several planned appearances at fan conventions.

“I regret it very much,” he continued. “Treatment needs and professional obligations do not always go hand in hand.”

Bruce explained that he didn’t make his diagnosis public to “garner sympathy” but rather to “preempt this information in case false information comes to light,” assuring fans they should “not be afraid” about his condition.

“I’m a tough old son of ab—h and I have a lot of support,” he added, “so I’ll probably be around for a while.”
