Ethan Slater on Ariana Grande Romance

Imperfect for Each Other: November 2024

One month after he showed his support for Grande’s October 2024 Saturday Night Live While hosting his appearance, Slater opened up about their relationship – and the scrutiny that comes with it – for the first time.

“It’s been an amazing year and a really beautiful thing,” Slater reflected on falling in love with Grande during filming Evil in an Oct. 2024 GQ Interview. “I’m really excited. I’m really, really proud of Ari and the work she’s done on it. She’s totally committed to it.”

Still, Slater admitted he found it difficult waiting for people to like him again while they held on to their papers and pens.

“I think it’s been really difficult to comment on things in your personal life and be looked at by the public,” he added. “There’s really been a lot of big changes in personal lives, so it’s really hard to see people who don’t know anything about what’s happening comment on this.”

But he was able to block out the noise to some extent. On Grande’s song “Imperfect For You,” which is rumored to be about him, he added, “I love that song.”
